Soup Bones for Bone Broth
Bone broth is one of the most nutrient-rich and powerful superfoods there is. It is rich in minerals that support the immune system, and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline. The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation. Collagen also helps repair cartilage in your joints, and is a healthy, natural way to prevent facial wrinkles.
Bone broth is also very simple to make, can be used in many ways, and can be frozen for later use. The best way to prepare is in a slow cooker or crockpot. Simply add 1.5 kg to 2 kg of bones into a slow cooker, 100 ml of vinegar, an onion, a few carrots and celery stalks, a twig of fresh rosemary, 2 bay leaves (laurel), salt and pepper. You can also add a cinnamon stick and a couple of cloves (clavo olor). Cover with fresh water and cook for 36 hours.
We sell our grass-fed, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef bones for 2,000 colones per package. Each package weighs approximately 0.5 kg. You’ll need 3 or 4 packs to fill an average-sized slow cooker.
