We are fortunate to have 3 gorgeous ranches in some of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. Each of them is very unique, but they are all spectacularly beautiful and pristine.
Finca Rejolla is a 440 hectare ranch that spans the saddle between the Miravalles and Rincon de la Vieja volcanos, near a small town called Guayabo de Bagaces. Located at an altitude of 550 meters, it is cool and receives a moist breeze from Lake Nicaragua. These cooler conditions are perfect for our mother cows that have Red Angus and Wagyu genetics.
Finca Palmira comprises two properties located at the foot of the Tenorio volcano. This ranch resembles a national park more than it does a cattle farm. We maintain large tracks of natural forests, with numerous troops of Howler and White-faced Capuchin monkeys, Ant Eaters, and other exotic wildlife.
The climate at Finca Palmira is hotter and dryer than our other ranches. Therefore, this is were we keep our Brahman mother cows.
Hacienda Sur was our first ranch, and is located near the Pacific coast, about 5 km from the town of Parrita. After 35 years of stewardship, Hacienda Sur has become our most developed ranch. The soils have been improved tremendously over the years. And with more than 60 km of subdivided fencing, we are better able to manage our grazing and increase pasture productivity.
We also have 34 hectares of irrigated fields, where we can grow our own green forages that help keep cattle thriving during the dry season.
Hacienda Sur is where we send the cattle we’ve selected for our artisan beef program. This is the ranch that allows us to give them the most attention and highest-quality feed.
